Samsung is expected to reveal its new foldable phones at a Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this year, which will take place at the end of July. After many rumors and leaks about the long-awaited announcement, the brand has spoken about when and where the presentation will take place – but before what it should, apparently.
In a publication on its press page in Australia, Samsung revealed that the Galaxy Unpacked will take place at the end of July, anticipating the event by a few weeks – traditionally, it took place sometime in August. The company specifically cites the “end of July”, in addition to that for the first time it will be held in its homeland, in Seoul, South Korea. Unfortunately, the definitive date remains a mystery.
As it is the Australian branch of the brand, it is possible that there was an error in scheduling the publication of the text for a few hours before the agreed time, since the material was removed from the air shortly afterwards — but it can still be accessed thanks to the Google cache . Therefore, it is most likely that a definitive announcement will be published by Samsung in the next few hours, perhaps including a teaser on its social networks.
Traditionally, since 2010, Samsung has always chosen to hold its events in other places, such as Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York, in the United States, as well as in places in Europe such as Berlin and Barcelona. In the note, the company specifically mentions the focus on folding products, indicating that the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will actually be shown, and the choice for Seoul was strategic, thinking about its dynamic culture and reference in innovation.
What to expect from Galaxy Unpacked?
The presentation should be the stage for the revelation of several new products. Among them are, of course, the new folding Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, where the smaller model will have a visual renovation due to its larger external screen and folder format, and the larger one should focus on technical improvements.
Other products may also show up, with the biggest expectation being the new tablets of the Galaxy Tab S9 series, as well as the new smart watches Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, with the latter marking the return of the physical rotating crown to the models of the brand. Rumors indicate that the final date will be July 26, but it remains to be confirmed by Samsung.
