Redmi closed the year with an entry-level device

The entry-level Redmi 12C was presented on the last day of the new year in a pretty design, but with modest specifications. The 2020, 12-nanometer MediaTek Helio G85 with 1 GHz GPU and 6 GB of system memory is actually not bad, nor is the 5000 mAh battery, but the microUSB charging port and the 10-watt speed are a bit of a pain.

Other than that, there is nothing particularly wrong with Redmi’s offer, it has a 6.71-inch HD+ display, which includes a 5-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel main camera on the back with an auxiliary sensor of unspecified properties. It can only be a depth sensor, because the main unit already exceeds the specifications of the chipset by two megapixels.

The Redmi 12C only works with LTE networks, offers a 3.5 mm jack and FM radio, and 128 GB of internal storage can be doubled with a microSD card. Contrary to the cover image, no actual information is available regarding device protection, the manufacturer only highlighted the non-slip back panel texture. The Redmi 12C with the smallest memory package (4/64 GB) costs HUF 38,000, and the top version with 6/128 GB costs approximately HUF 49,000.
