Redmi 11 Prime 5G, 11 Prime and A1 are new renamed models from Xiaomi

Confirming leaks, Xiaomi announced this Tuesday (6) the new Redmi 11 Prime 5G, Redmi 11 Prime and Redmi A1. Following the controversial strategy of flooding the market with renamed devices, the first two devices arrive as variants of members of the Redmi Note family, while the third focuses on offering the basics and debuts as a kind of “spiritual successor” to the Mi A3.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G is Redmi 10 5G renamed

More advanced among the announcements of the day, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G is essentially a rebranded version of the Redmi 10 5G, which in turn was already a re-release of other models in the Redmi Note family. The two devices have the same specifications — from processing to the look itself, in black, green and silver colors here, they are identical.

Therefore, the “launch” comes equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, accompanied by 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, with the possibility of expansion via Micro SD cards. The screen has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel, Full HD+ resolution of 2408 x 1080 pixels, 90 Hz refresh rate and employs a “V” notch to house the 5 MP selfie lens.

The rear camera set includes a 50 MP main sensor, accompanied by a 2 MP auxiliary sensor for depth calculation, while the battery has a generous capacity of 5,000 mAh, with support for 18 W fast charging – interestingly, the charger included in the box is more powerful, delivering 22.5 W.

Completing the datasheet, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G offers Wi-Fi 5 Dual Band connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, infrared emitter for controlling TVs and other devices, fingerprint reader integrated into the power button on the side, P2 connector for headphones ear, mono sound with speaker on the bottom side and Android 12, running under MIUI 13.

Redmi 11 Prime is new version of Redmi Note 11 SE

Still without a specific date to hit the market, the Redmi 11 Prime had few confirmed details, but the information announced points to another renamed model, this time based on the Redmi Note 11 SE — already re-released yesterday (5) as POCO M5. The “novelty” comes with a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 4 GB or 6 GB and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, with the possibility of expansion via Micro SD cards.

The Redmi 11 Prime is also another renamed model, bringing an identical set to the Redmi Note 11 SE and the recently announced POCO M5 (Image: Xiaomi)

With an IPS LCD panel, the screen is similar to the 5G model, with 6.58 inches, Full HD+ resolution of 2408 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, as well as a peak brightness of 500 nits. The area also houses the 8 MP front camera in a “V” notch, which accompanies the trio of rear lenses, equipped with a 50 MP main sensor and a pair of 2 MP sensors for macro photos and depth calculation. .

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports 18W charging, and there is also a 22.5W charger included in the box. In addition, the Redmi 11 Prime brings 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5 Dual Band, Bluetooth 5.3, infrared emitter, fingerprint reader on the side, P2 connector for headphones, mono audio and Android 12, under MIUI 13.

Redmi A1 is “successor” to the Mi A3

The most basic model among the releases, the Redmi A1 seems to be an original model, at least at first, and it draws attention for leaving the factory with pure Android 12, without Xiaomi modifications. The device seems to act as a kind of “spiritual successor” to the Mi A3, part of the company’s line of Android One phones, which also used the pure system and would theoretically have priority updates.

The device features a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, with 4 low-power Cortex-A53 cores running at up to 2.0 GHz, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, with the possibility of expansion via Micro SD cards up to 512 GB. The IPS LCD display has 6.52 inches, HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz, with a typical brightness of 400 nits.

The 5 MP front camera is housed in a “V” notch, while the rear set is extremely basic, consisting of an 8 MP main sensor and a 0.3 MP secondary sensor — the function of the second lens is not specified, but it is likely to be used to improve depth calculation in portraits.

The battery is one of the Redmi A1’s strong points, with 5,000 mAh of capacity, but there’s no fast charging here. 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5 (apparently without Dual Band support), Bluetooth 5.0, MicroUSB port, P2 headphone jack, mono audio and the aforementioned pure Android 12 complete the specifications.
