Realme launched the GT Neo5 in February and will now be expanding the model lineup with the new GT Neo5 SE version, which the manufacturer will reveal at an event on April 3. The new smartphone should be focused on presenting great value for money and will be one of the first with the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, which managed to achieve high-end performance in the new Chinese smartphone.

The new model’s display event will take place at 2 pm Beijing time, and 3 am Brasilia time, and the company released a teaser quickly showing the device before the announcement. In the teaser, the model didn’t look too different from the previously released Neo5 version, with the main design change being the absence of the RGB LED on the rear.

One of the main points of the GT Neo5 SE is that it will be one of the first to feature the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip, which was recently revealed by Qualcomm and promises improvements in CPU and GPU compared to the 7 Gen 2. The new chipset was recently tested on AnTuTu with a version of the Realme smartphone and the device was able to perform at the level of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and MediaTek Dimensity 9000.

It is worth mentioning that the model used in the benchmark platform was a special version with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. So normal variants of the model should have slightly lower performance.

As pointed out by GSMArena, in the teaser the manufacturer also revealed that the model will have a thickness of 8.95 mm and it will be about 6 grams lighter than the Neo5 model, weighing a total of 193.1 g.

The Realme GT Neo5 SE is expected to be only the second smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2Xiaomi has revealed that it will launch the Note 12 Turbo with the same chipset on March 28th.
