January 25th was a sad day for the TikTok community: Randy González, the father of the popular TikTok duo, tiktokers Americans enkyboys, died at the age of 35 and after suffering, since 2021, from colon cancer. González, of Latin descent, along with her son won the hearts of the users of this social network by raising awareness about cancer.

A source close to the family confirmed the news to the portal TMZ. González had shared with his more than 15 million followers on TikTok, in April 2021, that he had been diagnosed with colon cancer, however that was not the only bad news he gave his followers, as he also revealed that the disease She was already, by then, quite developed, so the doctors gave her between two and three years to live.

It was then, since April 2021, that his TikTok account, enkyboysbecame one of the most important and popular channels to raise awareness among other people about the disease, which little by little ended the life of González, who together with his son, Brice, created, with great encouragement and hope, related content with colon cancer.

In view of the high costs of the treatments that González had to receive, he created a campaign to raise funds., Well, according to what González would say while he was alive, for reasons beyond his control, he was denied the use of his health insurance at a cancer center at the University of Texas. To collect the money for his medical expenses, the content creator used GoFundMe, an American for-profit crowdfunding platform that enables people to raise money for events ranging from life events like celebrations and graduations to challenging circumstances like accidents and illness.

The content creator of Latino descent, in November 2022, updated his audience on what his last few months had been like:

“People here (on TikTok) have asked me if I’m okay. Yes! I’m fine we haven’t posted because the last few months have been horrible for me, just now I’m starting to get moving again. Cancer sucks. It sucks the life out of you. It makes you feel like there is nothing to live for. But, in reality, it sucks but you have to fight, you have to fight. You have to be strong to fight cancer and defeat it. And I want to be a testimony of this another year, when I defeat him. But above all, my family, my wife, my children and I are all fine. We are now in California, happy. We’re going back to Texas soon, but we’re good.”

Given the popularity of Randy and his son Brice, the latter was selected to form the cast of Lopez vs. Lopez of nbca sitcom (sitcom) which premiered on November 4, 2022. In the series, Brice plays Chance, one of the members of the Lopez family. The series follows what George Lopez must experience, a family man who tries to rebuild his relationship with his daughter from generation Z.

In early December 2022, González, in what would be his penultimate video, told his TikTok followers that things “are going great, except his current chemotherapy plan isn’t working.” He also noticed that he felt fine. In the video, in which he appears with his wife and little Brice, González also said: “I’m glad we’re back in Texas with the family.”

González leaves behind his wife, Kimberly, and their three children, Aubree, Brice, and Lauren.
