PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG, gets a new name. It’s now referred to as PUBG: Battlegrounds that technically makes it PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds which sounds a bit awkward. Krafton seems to quietly change the name of PUBG Mobile in July. Most of the PUBG players still don’t know who is PlayerUnknown and who owns the Battleground. But all of them know the most valuable name PUBG.
PUBG: Battlegrounds, The new name of PUBG Mobile doesn’t make sense. This new name will only work if everyone agrees that PUBG is not an acronym. This type of abbreviation is indicated by four capital letters.
According to PC Gamer, “Krafton is actively growing the PUBG brand through a range of other experiences set in its universe.” “The renaming PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to PUBG: Battlegrounds is the first step toward achieving this goal. Other games in the franchise will use the name PUBG, just like you have in the next game PUBG: New State.
What is PUBG: New State?
PUBG: New State is, in fact, a new mobile game that is a promising sequel to PUBG Mobile. Most surprisingly, the new PUBG: New State remains a battle royale genre, despite its new name with the term “Battlegrounds”. Currently, with no exact date, the PUBG: New State will be available for Android and iOS devices in 2021, and Android users already know they have pre-registration for this game.

Meanwhile, PUBG: Battlegrounds, the new name of PUBG Mobile will have free access from August 10 to August 16 to commemorate the game’s collaboration with K-pop star Black Pink.
There is talk of an upcoming PUBG space game called Project Cowboy, but Callisto’s Protocol for a space horror game (for some reason) will be part of the same universe. However, there is no PUBG acronym used with its name yet.
