Power Rangers Netflix Special Won’t Feature Original Pink Ranger

It looks like the expected Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Now and Forever, a Netflix special that will reunite the original cast of the series, will not be as complete as fans had hoped. That’s because actress Amy Jo Johnson, who was the classic Ranger Rosa, will not participate in the meeting.

The revelation came from the actress herself, who played Kimberly Ann Hart, the original Pink Ranger. In a post on Twitter, the actress said: did not accept the invitation from Netflix to join his colleagues in the special.

“To be clear, I never said no… I just didn’t say yes to what was offered,” Johnson says in the publication, without going into details behind the scenes. “But other fun stuff is on the way! I’m excited to see my friends kick ass!”

The big date was announced by Netflix earlier this week. In addition to having revealed the news, the company released the first images of the classic cast, but plot details have not yet been released.

While we won’t have the original pink ranger, Catherine Sunderland, the second actress to take on the role, has already been confirmed in the special as Katherine Hillard. The cast will also feature David Yost (Billy Cranston, the first Blue Ranger), Walter E. Jones (Zack Taylor, the original Black Ranger), Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos, the second Red Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell, the second Yellow Ranger) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park, the second Black Ranger).

In addition, the special will also have the voices of Barbara Goodson, who dubbed Rita Repulsa in English, and Richard Horvitz, the North American Alpha. It is also expected that some reference will be made to actor Jason David Frank, the Green Ranger, who died last year.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Now and Forever premieres April 19 on Netflix. If you’ve been away for a long time and want to catch up before the special, check out the guide with all the chronological order of the franchise!
