At the CES 2022 technology event, Sony announced its new virtual reality peripherals for the current generation console, PS5: Playstation VR2. After a month of closing the conference, the official website has finally been opened with all the technical details.
Unfortunately, the portal has not yet advanced the redesign of the peripherals. Only a photo of the controls has been attached, which would maintain the previous design with the hand protectors.
On this occasion, Sony anticipates that they are also working on 4K graphics support (depending on the game), 120 fps, eye movement detection, helmet feedback, 3D audio and adaptive triggers.
PlayStation buys Bungie and still has plans to acquire more studios
This last tool is the same one used by the DualSense controllers. Basically, the triggers have resistance depending on the video game. In turn, the PlayStation VR2 controls will have haptic feedback.

Features of the PlayStation VR2
4K HDR display
Immerse yourself in stunning VR environments in clear focus with 4K High Dynamic Range visuals at up to 120 fps1 as two 2000 x 2040 OLED displays deliver more than four times the resolution generated by the original PlayStation®VR headset.
Enjoy comfortable gaming sessions with a 110º field of view, a lightweight and balanced Fresnel lens, as well as a lens adjustment dial that allows you to customize the focus based on your personal preferences.
With the PS VR2 headset you can interact in a new and realistic way, since it detects the movement of your eyes1, increasing emotional response and enhancing expression when you meet other players online.
Eye-tracking cameras follow your line of sight when you point or look around, while advanced foveated rendering techniques enhance the viewing experience by adjusting resolutions to sharpen and highlight what you’re focusing on.
Play freely as PlayStation VR2 follows you and your controllers through four cameras built into the headset. Your movements and the direction you’re facing are mirrored within the game without the need for an external camera.
Helmet Acoustic Feedback
Feel the subtle vibrations of the headset at key moments in the game1. Created by a single built-in motor, these vibrations add an intelligent tactile element to the sensory immersion you’ll experience as you play.
Feel the elevated heart rate of your character during moments of greatest tension, the speed of objects that pass near your head, or the momentum of your vehicle when driving at high speed.

Single cable connection
Immerse yourself in new virtual worlds by connecting a single cable to the USB port of your PlayStation 5 console. PlayStation VR2 is quick and easy to set up – just plug it in and play.
