PlayStation Plus: release date, prices, benefits and everything you need to know about the new subscription plan

Sony Entertainment officially announced that the new PlayStation Plus and the first console game streaming service with PlayStation Now will officially arrive in June 2022. After months of leaks, we can finally tell you all the details such as price, services and advantages of each new plan for PS4 and PS5 subscribers.

The most basic service is PlayStation Plus Essentialwhich offers the same benefits that PlayStation Plus members currently get, such as two monthly downloadable games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games, access to online multiplayer.

The price of PlayStation Plus Essential remains the same as the current price of Playstation Plus.

  • Latin America – $6.99 monthly / $16.99 quarterly / $39.99 annually
  • United States – $9.99 per month / $24.99 per quarter / $59.99 per year
  • Europe – €8.99 per month/€24.99 quarterly/€59.99 per year
  • UK – GBP 6.99 per month / GBP 19.99 quarterly / GBP 49.99 per year
  • Japan – JPY 850 monthly/JPY 2,150 quarterly/JPY 5,143 annually

For its part, PlayStation Plus Extra offers all the benefits of the Essential level, adds a catalog of up to 400 games for PS4 and PS5, including blockbusters from the catalog of PlayStation Studios and third-party partners.

Finally, PlayStation Plus Premium offers all the benefits of the Essential and Extra tiers and adds up to 340 additional games, including PS3 games available via the cloud and a catalog of classics, available via streaming and download, from generations of the original PlayStation , PS2 and PSP

It also provides access to cloud streaming for games from the PlayStation original, PS2, PSP and PS4 offered in Extra and Premium tiers in markets where Playstation Now is currently available. Users can stream the games via PS4, PS5 consoles and on PC.

Time-limited game trials will also be offered at this level, so that users can try selected games before purchasing.

For markets without cloud streaming services, PlayStation Plus Deluxe will be offered at a lower price compared to Premium, and includes a catalog of classic games from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations for download and play, along with time-limited game trials. Benefits from the Essential and Extra levels are also included. Local prices will vary by market.

  • Latin America – $11.99 monthly / $31.99 quarterly / $76.99 annually

At the launch of the new PSPlusSony plans to include titles like Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal.

When the new PlayStation Plus service launches, PlayStation Now will transition to the new PlayStation Plus offering and will no longer be available as a standalone service. PlayStation Now users will migrate to PlayStation Plus Premium without increasing their current subscription fees at launch.
