Pixel 7: Google launches themed potatoes to promote cell phone colors

Google made its new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro flagship phones official in May during the I/O event, recently confirming that both will be available for sale next October. Now, even with its visuals already revealed, the brand has made a teaser playing with the color options of the devices.

In Japan, Google started a promotional campaign at least peculiar, making a curious relationship between the colors of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro with fictitious flavors of potato chips.

The Pixel 7 Pro had the white color represented by the Snow Cheese flavor, while the moss green tone was symbolized by the Hazel Onion. At the same time, the pastel green Pixel 7 was portrayed by Salty Lemon, with the Obsidian Pepper flavor representing the color black.

The point is that these snacks really exist and are part of a promotional action. Japanese people who participate in #GoogleChips can win a box of one of these flavors. There are two thousand boxes in total, drawn to those who enter the campaign until the 23rd of September.

What to expect from the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro?

The new high-end devices should be the first smartphones in the world to run the new Android 13 operating system out of the box. They should still have the second generation of Google’s proprietary processor, called Tensor G2.

In addition, the processor is expected to be accompanied by up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage space. As for other specs, they should bring a 50 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultrawide camera, with the Pixel 7 Pro also bringing a dedicated 48 MP optical zoom camera.

The new smartphones in the Pixel line are due to be presented alongside the Pixel Watch, Google’s first smart watch, on the 6th of October, with rumors saying that their sales will start on the 20th of the same month.
