The soap opera series where there was fire was positioned in the first place in audience after its recent premiere on the platform Netflix. It is a dramatic project where the thriller with romance and Plutarco Haza participates giving life to “Noé Serrano”a former police officer who could hide a big secret.
The actor who has 25 years of experience on the stage chatted with TechMarkup Mexico and gave his impressions on the new way of making telenovelas, a very important genre in Mexico, since It has been for decades the main export product.
“In terms of story, you can tell any story, within the pink melodrama, pink or a more complex story, but in the end what has changed is the tone. I think people watch so many platforms, so many movies that obviously no longer swallow a bad performance, an overreaction or an exaggerated or false performance.”

“They all have to have in their various shades a very true tone and much more attached to reality so that people enjoy it and can follow a story for several months and not get out of it, “explained the actor, who recently ended his participation in the telenovela No man’s wifewhich meant his first foray into Televisa.
“What has changed is that the tones that are so exaggerated and so extra dramatic are the ones that no longer pull so much, I think that people already like it more, at least I like it more, a more realistic performance”
And it is that in recent times some open television melodramas have shown an evolution and the opening to touch certain social subjectssuch as the search for missing children, in Warrior heart or the union of couples gay and migration in search of better opportunities, as occurred in divided love.
These themes that reflect a current society has provoked comments such as soap operas must have a social responsibilitysomething in which Plutarco Haza would not you agree.
“As much as a responsibility does not have it, what a telenovela has to do is entertain, make you forget your problems and that you can enter the lives of others and have fun. If within all that you can touch certain topics in a good way and leave some questions or a message, that’s wonderful, there are those who can do it, but really put that term of responsibility on them, I think not because, on the one hand, we get into areas that do not concern us.
“Secondly you can also fall into how horrible it is that they want to give you a messagethat certain movies or series or soap operas, that suddenly want to give you so much medicine, want to give you so much a message, that they stop being fun and They turn like you’re going to class, or to churchthe important thing about a telenovela is to have fun, and obviously to touch current issues because they are the issues that interest the public. For me it would be very shocking if television became educational”.
In addition to having played the enigmatic villain of where there was firePlutarch goes on to offer theater performances with his monologue I’m going to be a dad, damn it! The actor knows that with his work he is telling stories aimed at two different audiences, each with its peculiarities.

“They are different audiences, some coincide but the theater audience is very particular, especially compared to the soap opera, which also has its peculiarities, they do not start from the same. Even the audience of platforms is different, some will coincide, but in particular the public of Televisa is very specialized in novels, in the rose of guadeloupe and those types of projects, very different from people who go to the theater or who watch series”.
Although the way to build his theater characters is the same as in film or television, Haza points out that in a live performance “he is his own camera”:
“The camera takes you down to the smallest detail and in the theater you are your own camera, you have to get to the last seat, and between the first and the last you have to live the experience, and that depends a lot on the actor. That is the main difference, but in terms of tone or character construction they are practically the same.
