Who Will Find-N the Perfect Foldable Format? It was probably not exactly this joke that led Oppo to install its latest foldable smartphone exactly between the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 in terms of size. Nevertheless, the form factor is exciting: at least according to the first pictures, the 7.1 or 5.49-inch format makes you want more.
- The Oppo Find N offers 7.1 inches on the inside and 5.49 inches on the outside
- This puts the Find N exactly between the Samsung Z Fold 3 and Flip 3

This year, Samsung replaced its Note series with the foldable smartphones of the Galaxy Z series – and is currently the only manufacturer that really relies on foldable mobile phones. Now the Koreans are facing competition from China with the Oppo Find N. With opened 7.1 inches and closed 5.49 inches, the smartphone lies between Samsung’s two form factors Z Fold 3 (7.6 / 6.2 inches) and Z Flip 3 (6.7 / 1.9 inches). Oppo wants to have found the sweet spot with it: closed compact, but still fully usable and opened a handy tablet.

Like all current foldables, the Find N also relies on the more resistant UTG, i.e. ultra-thin glass. Compared to the plastic used in early foldable smartphones, UTG is more scratch-resistant. Unfortunately, the Find N does not offer IP certification. The internal LTPO display should achieve a brightness of 1000 nits. Gamers can look forward to a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a touch sample rate of 1000 Hz.
Oppo also wants to score with the software. There are a few new gestures: a vertical two-finger swipe downwards, for example, divides the display in two halves. A four-finger pinch gesture turns an app into a window. Fans of tiny notebooks should be pleased that the Find N can be set up like a – well – tiny notebook on the table. The hinge should be able to be locked at any angle between 50 and 120 degrees.

The Snapdragon 888 takes care of the drive together with 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM. The internal UFS 3.1 memory can hold either 256 or 512 GB. 4500 mAh fit into the battery, quick charging works with a cable with a SuperVooc with a maximum of 33 watts, with AirVooc 15 watts are in it. Oppo has installed a fingerprint sensor in the power button on the side.
Finally, there are no disappointments with the cameras either. The main camera offers 50 megapixels, we already know the IMX766 sensor from the Find X3 Pro. In addition, Oppo installed a telecamera with 13 megapixels and an ultra-wide-angle module with 16 megapixels. Finally, there is also a selfie camera with 32-megapixel resolution in each of the two displays.
And Ben, you will be particularly pleased: An X-axis linear motor takes care of vibrations in the Find N. Why is that particularly fine? Because there is plenty of space in the X-axis for powerful vibrations – and this force can then ideally be used in a well-dosed manner. The Eurohandys colleagues have dedicated this fantastic video to the vibration motors on their YouTube channel:
At the end there is still the big question mark: the price. With a market price of the equivalent of 1100 euros (7699 yuan) for the small and 1250 euros (8999 yuan) for the large version, the foldable is significantly cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3.But remember that there are various duties and taxes on the prices in this country become due. Find N is scheduled to start on the day before Christmas on Oppo’s home market. For the rest of the world, Oppo promises loosely: “2022”. For the time being, it will be: Samsung or nothing.
