One UI 5 will arrive on the Galaxy S22 in October

Samsung’s annual developer conference is over, and at the same time, the October security update for phones in the S series newer than the Galaxy S20 FE, all Galaxy Folds, the Note10 Lite and the two Note 20s, as well as also for the Galaxy A52. Plus, it was revealed when Android 13 is expected for Galaxy phones: this month. The South Korean manufacturer will launch Android 13-based One UI 5 for everyone on the Galaxy S22 before the end of October.

The software is already available in beta form, but soon the OTA will be knocking on all users, which will bring a new dynamic theme and lock screen, stackable widgets, support for multiple users, updated multitasking gestures, text recognition, security center and other new features to the phones. Compared to the practice of previous years, the main version update is coming earlier this year, the Galaxy S21 only received One UI 4 in November last year, and the Galaxy S20 had to wait until December 2020 for One UI 3.

For now, it is not certain whether One UI 5 Beta 4 will be the last beta version before the public OTA. According to the manufacturer’s promise, together with the release of the S22 update, it will also publish an official schedule with the One UI 5 update schedule for other compatible Galaxy phones.
