Samsung often makes its monthly security patch packages available earlier than Google, and two days before October, the bit set of the tenth monthly patch package was launched for the Galaxy S22 family. Even more unexpected is that the American Verzion has published the Android 13 update for the series – at least according to its support page, with the full list of new features of One UI 5.0. In fact, of course, they only looked into it: in the United States, only the October bug fix appeared, based on Android 12.
The bug is telling because service providers have an accurate view of system updates, and several sources are predicting the publication of One UI 5.0 for October. Based on this, it’s possible that someone at Verizon saw the changelog, caught their eye on the October bugfix package, and confused this major update with the simple Android 12 security package. The knowledge of the S22s can grow regardless of the software version: the Samsung developers promise manual setting options in addition to hyperlapse, i.e. accelerated recording. In any case, the Galaxy excels in professional photo and video mode, and there is also the developing Expert RAW for fanatics.
