Obi-Wan Kenobi for the premiere of Disney + and a lot of news for fans of “Star Wars” – full list

Every fan of “Star Wars” will surely rub their hands at the thought of entering Poland by Disney +. There are at least a few reasons to be happy, including not only a complete list of films, but also series, including the latest one, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”.

What will a geek who loves ” Star Wars ” find on Disney + ? The cinematic episodes of the “Star Wars” saga are just the beginning! We have prepared a list of all movies, series and animations from a galaxy far away, including those that you will not find anywhere else.

Star Wars is one of the most profitable franchises in the history of pop culture. They only beat Pokemon, Hello Kitty, Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse. The saga has changed the face of cinema forever and fascinates next generations of science fiction fans. No wonder it has become one of the most important pillars alongside Marvel, Disney’s multimedia empire. Even the fact that Episode IX cast a shadow on George Lucas’s legacy (just as the dark side of the Force enveloped  a distant galaxy in the Republic era) does not change it.

Due to the fact that the  Disney Plus service will debut in our country this year , specifically, we decided to check what the creators of the service have prepared for ” Star Wars ” fans. It turns out that the blockbuster movies are just the beginning, because the company’s offer includes much more material than you might expect. The films are complemented by series, animations and documents, and there were also a few surprises.

Star Wars  at  Disney +

At the heart of a galaxy far, far away, there are, of course, cinematic movies. So far 11 of them have been created so far. They make up to three trilogies, three episodes each and two spin-offs. Interestingly, they were not shot in chronological order, so there are several ideas on  how to watch “Star Wars”  – including the so-called machete order. The cinemas were released in this order:

  • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977);
  • Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980);
  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983);
  • Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999);
  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002);
  • Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005);
  • Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015);
  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016);
  • Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017);
  • Han Solo. Star Wars – stories (2018);
  • Star Wars Episode IX: Skywalker. Rebirth  (2019).

Star Wars  in Disney + is not only movies, but also series and animations.

The first drama series in the ” Star Wars ” universe to be found in the Disney + offer  is “The Mandalorian” . This is a (so far)  two-season  story about Dina Djarina, the title Mandalorian bounty hunter, who oversees the so-called Baby Yoda. His spin-off is ” The Book of Boba Fett “, but  the two series overlap strongly . We are also waiting for  many other productions in episodes of “Star Wars” , including the series “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, which will appear on the site at the end of May.

In addition, fans can count on several animated series included in the current “Star Wars” canon. Among them are  “The Clone Wars” with the 7th season filmed by Disney years later , which closed several threads. In addition, there are “Rebels” embedded in the story between the first two trilogies and “The Resistance” telling about the adventures of a young boy on the eve of the taking over of power in the galaxy by the First Order.

What else Star Wars can be found on Disney Plus?

The Disney + library  also includes “Bad Batch” , a  spin-off of “The Clone Wars”  about Jango Fett’s clones, which did not begin to serve the Empire. Added to this is “Star Wars Forces of Destiny”, or mini-video clips (which are also available on YouTube). Another interesting item is ” Star Wars Visions “, a  non- canon anime based on “Star Wars” themes .

The top of the list is the “Star Wars Vintage” collection, which includes non-canonical works such as “Droids”, “Caravan of Courage”, “Ewoks”, “Ewoks: Battle of Endor”, “The Story of the Faithful Cookie”, animation “Clone Wars” “from Cartoon Network by Genndy Tartakovsky and animations prepared in collaboration with LEGO. In addition, there are letters suggesting viewers under the nose, among others “Essential” episodes of “The Clone Wars” plus documents and behind-the-scenes materials.

* The material was originally prepared on January 28, based on the Disney + library on an account established in the Netherlands. We will inform you about which items will be available in the database in the Polish version of the website as soon as Mickey Mouse officially introduces its VOD to our market.
