Now you can record Twitter Spaces on iOS and Android. Here is how

If you are an avid user of Spaces on Twitter, this news should make you happy.

And no, it’s still not a feature to hide live chat rooms.

Twitter Spaces can now be registered

It’s been a few months now that Twitter has set up the Spaces, these live discussion spaces that sometimes bring together thousands of participants. Twitter had promised a scalable tool, and the network is keeping its promise with a new function.

Indeed, as of now, all Twitter users operating on Android and iOS are able to record a Space session. Until now, only certain users had access to this function.

Twitter says that if the host chooses to record their Space chat, the recording will be publicly available immediately after the session ends, so everyone can listen to it whenever they want. The network will also keep audio copies for 30 to 120 days, in order to check for possible violations of Twitter rules.

As XDA Developers noted out, Twitter previously stored the audio recordings for Spaces on its servers, which users could access before this functionality by requesting an archive of your account information. This, however, might take hours or days, as opposed to the new recording option, which offers you access instantly after a Space has concluded.

Only the Twitter iOS and Android apps have the recording capability. The Twitter online client, including desktop and mobile, still cannot be used to record or create Spaces.
