Nothing Phone (2) should upgrade its cameras, says rumor

Updated on:

Already confirmed for the 11th of July, the Nothing Phone (2) should be revealed with few design changes, but bringing important internal improvements that raise the level of the product. Now, details about its photographic set have been leaked, reinforcing a statement by CEO Carl Pei himself a few weeks ago, where it was said that the cell phone would have “another level camera”.

According to information from the informant Shishir (@ShishirShelke1 on Twitter), the Nothing Phone (2) should leave the factory with a main camera of 50 MP with a Sony IMX890 sensor, f/1.9 lens aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). It is the same sensor used in premium intermediaries and flagships like OnePlus 11, OPPO Find X6, Realme GT Neo 5, among others.

In addition, the device should also have an ultrawide 50 MP rear camera, but with a different sensor – here, it says that a Samsung JN1 should be used, a sensor present in intermediaries such as Moto G82, Galaxy A23 5G and Redmi Note 11S. Regarding its front camera, the company must add a 32 MP camera, with a Sony IMX615 sensor, without detailing the lens opening.

In this way, he points out that the front camera and the main rear gain an upgrade, while the ultrawide remains the same as that seen on the Nothing Phone (1). At the same time, he points out that the image post-processing has been completely changed, which makes sense considering that the Phone (2) chipset should also have an ugprade, moving from the intermediate Snapdragon 778G Plus to a premium Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 platform.

Among other features, rumors indicate that the new cell phone from Nothing It should also have a 6.7-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate support. In addition, it should have versions with up to 512 GB of internal storage space — the Phone (1) had up to 256 GB.

Finally, its battery must be 4,700 mAh, and it must have the Nothing OS 2.0 operating system, with the promise of three major system updates and four years of security updates. The Phone (2) should be shown by the brand on the 11th of July, in an event that will take place at 12:00h (Brasília time).
