Nothing Phone 2 arrives in July as an iPhone rival, says executive

After some initial information about the Nothing Phone 2 was revealed on Nothing’s social networks, the CEO of the brand Carl Pei gave more details in an interview given to the magazine forbes. In it, the executive gives details about the availability and characteristics of the device, among other information.

He stated that the device will be officially revealed in July, and can also be purchased in the United States. This is a different strategy compared to the first generation of the device, which had sales focused on Europe.

Pei said the US is a very Apple-concentrated market with “no real options” for people looking for alternatives to iPhones. Therefore, it would be a good opportunity for Nothing Phone 2 to grow and consolidate.

According to the latest reports from Counterpoint Research, Apple has about 52% of the US market share. The brand is followed by Samsung (27%), Lenovo/Motorola (8%), TCL (2%) and Google (2%).

Another detail of the cell phone revealed by Pei is its battery, which will have a capacity of 4,800 mAh. This is a subtle improvement over the Phone 1, which came with a 4,500mAh tank.

Previously, the brand had already revealed that the device will come with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. Even if it is not Qualcomm’s most powerful platform, it should still offer flagship performance – which will be essential for the device to have a chance of rival the iPhones.

In addition, the Nothing Phone 2 should maintain a very characteristic and striking design, with Glyph lighting that informs the user about the presence of new notifications, in addition to indicating the battery status.

As there is still more than a month to go before the launch of the smartphone, more information about it should be revealed through leaks. In addition, Nothing itself can show more teasers of the device, perhaps with some extra specifications.
