Nosferatu: Bill Skarsgard to star in new Robert Eggers film

In an interview with anonymous sources, Deadline confirmed that Bill Skarsgard (It – The Thing) and Lily-Rose Depp (King) will star in the gothic horror reboot Nosferatu. The film will be directed and written by Robert Eggers (The headlight, The witch) and has Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus as co-producers.

The feature film is being proposed as a retelling of the classic 1922 film, considered the first horror film production in history. Set in 19th century Germany, a young woman (Depp) is haunted by an ancient vampire from Transylvania (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing with it untold horror and terrifying nightmares with every encounter.

Previous rumors have suggested that rising star Anya Taylor-Joy, who worked with Eggers on The witch and the man of the north, was slated to play an as-yet-undefined role. However, since the launch of The headlightnothing was said about the actress’ participation and, in the meantime, she ended up being invited to other projects, such as Last Night in Soho and Mad Max: Furious.

Also, Harry Styles (Do not worry, dear) was mentioned by Eggers in an interview with IndieWire in early 2022. “Man, I don’t know. It’s falling apart for the second time. I’ve been trying to get the word out because it says Harry Styles would be in the movie. I just want to make it clear that he would be Hutter and not Nosferatu himself.” In the original film, Hutter is a realtor looking to sell the ghoulish castle of Graf Orlock, an ancient vampire.

More details about Nosferatu will be revealed later.
