The short video app tiktokis testing a new feature that will allow users to review locally produced contentin an area close to the location of the device.
This feature, which has been called ‘nearby’ (near), is available in a small group of accounts located in Southeast Asia and will be displayed on the platform along with the current distribution of the sections in the app that at the moment, it only has ‘For you’ and ‘Following’ available in the global version.

This is a feature that is already present in other similar apps like Snapchat, which presents a map in which the publications made by users are located; in addition to Instagramwhich places the photos within a ‘feed’ thanks to location tags.
ByteDance, the company responsible for the creation of Tiktok, indicated that it hopes to “add value” to its community and generate a more enriching experience during its daily use. In addition, a company representative indicated that location tags will be gradually added to the platform for content creators.
On the other hand, it was emphasized that the company is also testing a feature related to the purchase and sale of products from different categories called Store.
Buying and selling tickets
Tiktok is also developing a space within its application so that artists, well-known personalities or famous content creators can offer their audiences tickets to events.

Share videos on more platforms
