After Moon Knightcomes another television production starring a character that has never been seen before within the cinematographic Universe of Marvel: the young muslim kamala khanor also known as Ms Marvel. The new series will function as a prelude to the marvelsthe second installment of Captain Marvel that will bring together Iman Vellani with Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris. But before that, we are going to discover the path of this young protagonist to become a heroine.
The first few minutes of the pilot make one point clear… Much of this story will be told from a youthful perspective and through the eyes of a Muslim teenager. Her mother disapproves of seeing her in a “tight suit” and proposes an alternative more linked to her culture in the Hulk version, something that makes her explode and hurt the feelings of her father who expected her. accompany her
kamala khan he sees himself at a crossroads, it is debated if she really belongs to this fantasy world or should she listen to her parents. However, the feeling of feeling much more limited than her older brother just because she is a woman leads her to not think twice and create a perfect plan to escape from her and return at the right time. She just lacks something, an attribute that makes her clothing as Captain Marvel different and original, and she finds the answer in a family heirloom that was recently sent home. It is a strange bracelet that belonged to her great-grandmother.
Arriving at the convention, the two friends have an amazing time surrounded by Halloween-themed activities and exhibits. Marvel (There is even a mural dedicated to Black Widow and Iron Man, who died in the battle against Thanos). When Kamala wears her costume and puts on the bracelet, her powers are created and, obviously, they are very different from those in the comics. But, from what is understood, these abilities are connected to her ancestor and this would allow her to further explore her Pakistani identity.
From this moment on, her life will change completely and she will feel that she has really achieved what she wanted most: to be a superhero. Although everything seems to be going well for her, an investigation is looming behind her based on the videos filmed at Avenger-Con in which she is seen using this strange power. Finally, when she arrives home she feels special, but her mother is disappointed… that is the premise that will haunt this teenager: continue with this madness to save the world or be who her parents expect her to be? ?
