It’s been a month since he started showing up here and there Motorola Edge 40 Pro, first appeared on Geekbench and later on Google Play Console, but so far we haven’t seen anything official about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 device. With the exception of the Chinese Motorola X40 premiere, which took place in December, and based on the leaked renders, the phone will arrive here without any changes under the name Edge 40.

What we know about the new high-end Motorola is that it gets a 165 Hz display with a 6.7-inch diagonal. It is a 10-bit OLED panel with a 9:20 aspect ratio, a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and curved edges. As Geekbench proved, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 12 GB of RAM. The battery can be 4600 mAh, and the charging can reach 125 watts via wire and 15 watts via the Qi standard wirelessly. In the case of last year’s models, there was a difference in charging speed between Chinese and globally sold models, this year this may not be the case.

On the back, you will find two 50 MP sensors (main camera with OIS and 117-degree ultra-wide), as well as a 12 MP zoom camera good for 2x magnification. On the front, a 60 MP camera can poke a hole in the top-center of the display. Based on the images, the stereo speaker and Dolby Audio certification will be given, and the device will also have some kind of IP certification. Probably IP68, as with the Chinese version.
