Motorola Edge 30 Neo arrives as entry-level phone with premium features

Confirming rumors, the Motorola Edge 30 Neo has just been announced as the newest low-cost member of the brand’s premium family of smartphones. Equipped with a basic set of processing, the novelty seeks to be a solid option for those looking for a compact cell phone, incorporating some of the features present in the most advanced models of the line.

Edge 30 Neo is entry-level phone with premium features

A kind of successor to the Edge 20 Lite, the Motorola Edge 30 Neo has basic processing specifications, including Snapdragon 695 chipset, 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. As with the last generation, the launch proposal is to deliver premium features in a compact, low-cost package.

The first point where this philosophy is visible is the screen, equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, unlike the other newly released devices in the family, the Edge 30 Neo adopts a flat panel rather than a component with curved sides.

The cameras also received attention and feature a 32 MP selfie lens, accompanied by a rear set consisting of a 64 MP main sensor with optical stabilization (OIS) and a 13 MP ultrawide with macro function and 120° field of view. In that department, Motorola even took advantage of the LED flash to make it work as a phone status signal, acting to signal the arrival of notifications and displaying charging information.

Another outstanding feature is the battery which, despite offering only 4,020 mAh of capacity, has 68 W fast charging, promising to recover up to 50% of the charge in just 15 minutes. Combined with the presence of 5 W wireless charging, this feature is practically non-existent among basic cell phones in the category.

In addition, the brand’s premium entry-level phone offers 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, under-display fingerprint reader, stereo sound system with Dolby Atmos, wireless Ready For desktop mode and Android 12 running under the MyUX 3.0 interface, with 2 years of major updates and 3 years of guaranteed security updates.

Motorola announces unprecedented partnership with Pantone

The Edge 30 Neo is also the first fruit of the unprecedented global partnership that Motorola has established with Pantone, the company responsible for standardizing colors globally.

With a thin and light design, bringing a thickness of 7.7 mm and 155 grams, the device debuts in the colors Very Peri (purple) — the Pantone color of the year 2022 — Ice Palace (white), Aqua Foam (light green) and Black Onyx (black), all developed from the joint work of the giants.

In the press release, the manufacturer explains that the agreement should extend over a long period and will involve the collaboration of the designers of both companies to “incorporate new strategies and the psychology of colors” in the future releases of Motorola, which will have access to the trends, you will be able to talk to specialists of the group and will have at your disposal a series of colors that “represent what is most in vogue in design”.
