Microsoft Bing will create images with Dall-E

Microsoft added an artificial intelligence image maker to Bing, its search engine , this Tuesday (21). Bing Image Creator will be powered by an “advanced version” of OpenAI’s DALL-E, according to the company. Thus, users will be able to create images through text commands.

For now, the company will limit this image maker to Bing Chat’s creative mode. But it plans to “make it available in a balanced and accurate way over time,” as Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing, explained. In addition, Bing Image Creator will be incorporated into Edge, Microsoft’s browser.

How will it work

At this first moment, Bing Image Creator comes to creative mode. Is that Bing has three modes of response: creative, balanced and accurate. The creative mode includes “original and imaginative” responses, while Precise mode favors accuracy and relevance for more factual and concise responses. It will work like this:

Bing Image Creator will be fully integrated into the Bing chat experience. By typing a description of an image, providing additional context such as location or activity, and choosing an art style, Image Creator will generate an image of your own imagination.

If you are not in the new Bing view, you can access this Bing Image Creator from a page within the search engine . But, for now, you can only generate images through texts in English. Microsoft said it will add more language support over time.

In Edge, a new icon will appear in the sidebar. Through it, you will also be able to create images via text commands. The procedure follows the same principle as how the Dall-E works.
