“I liked that Sofia is different from any role I’ve played before, and that really drew me to her,” she confesses. “It was also inspiring to see how driven she is and how focused she is when it comes to doing what she loves. I resonated with that and there were things that I didn’t resonate with that I wanted to learn to fix so I could be more confident in myself and she was that person.”

The plot introduces us to Molly Novak (Rudolph), a billionaire who has the life of her dreams. Suddenly, everything falls apart when she discovers her husband’s infidelity with a young woman. The marriage they shared 20 years comes to an end and she becomes the topic of the moment for the tabloid press. As if he were going to rescue her from this hole, she receives a call from Sofia Salinas (Rodriguez), the director of her charitable foundation who asks to meet with her to talk about this “scandal” that bad publicity for the work of her team. . This is how this woman who has it all, learns to coexist in a work space and cultivate friendships while she tries to help the world.

“Howard is always trying to catch up with Arthur. They’ve been cubicle mates for so long, but they don’t really know much about each other until Molly walks into their lives. For once, Howard is really interested in something, because he never looked below the surface with Arthur, I think,” says Funches, to which his co-star adds: “I think Arthur is a little awkward and lonely, but I think that throughout the series we see him lean on Howard and Nicholas for advice, a kind of connection and guidance.

For Faxon, the purpose of his character is also about starting over and perhaps finding another love after divorcing his daughter’s mother, something that brings him closer to Molly having gone through something similar. “He’s trying to get out of that comfort zone a little bit, especially when it comes to Molly,” he says, and about the scenes with his co-star, he thinks “it’s a sweet friendship that forms.” .

“It just exists and we’re so lucky and that’s why I feel like it’s so important to find people to act with that have chemistry, because there’s something so intangible about it that you can’t put it into words, but it feels right and it feels good. The influences of other iconic comedies in loot

“We did another series with Maya Rudolph and we loved working with her […] We try to think of a good role for her to play, and put her at the center of a comedy,” he says.
