Made by Google 2022: these are the new Pixel cell phones and the brand’s first smartwatch

Google just held their big event hardware to finally give the full disclosure of the Pixel Watchthe company’s first self-made wearable.

The Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7Pro they were also heavily advertised around their improved cameras and new styling. If any readers missed the big event, here’s everything Google announced today.

Google Pixel Smart Watch

Google kicked off the program by introducing the Google Pixel Watch, the company’s first smartwatch. The Pixel Watch features a round face. It also features a band attachment mechanism with no visible “lugs”.

Instead, the wearer attaches the watch strap to the top and bottom of the device and twists to lock it in place, similar to how a camera lens is attached to the body of a camera.

The Pixel Watch also offers deep integration of Fitbit to track workouts and health data. Google claims it will offer the most accurate once-per-second heart rate tracking to date.

Also has 40 exercise modes and an integrated GPS. For sleep tracking, you’ll be able to see sleep scores and stages, and there’s an electrocardiogram (ECG) app that can detect signs of atrial fibrillation.

It is important to emphasize that this smart watch It includes six months of Fitbit Premium and three months of YouTube Music Premium.

Google Pixel 7

The Google Pixel 7 looks sleeker than ever with a sophisticated aluminum chassis. It features a slightly smaller 6.3-inch 1080p display compared to the Pixel 6’s 6.4-inch screen, but it also has slimmer bezels. According to Google, the 90 Hz screen of this new phone is also a 25% brighter.

Regarding the internal power, this phone comes with the new Tensor G2 processor from Google with 8 GB of RAM. That new processor helps power faster calculations, at half the time it takes to take pictures of Night Sight. Also, there are new camera tricks like Face Unblur Y Cinematic Blur in video mode.

The Pixel 7 also has a slightly smaller capacity battery, but promises 24-hour battery life and 48-hour use with Extreme Battery Saver. 30W charging is also supported wired and wireless.

As for the cameras, the Pixel 7 still has a camera of 50 megapixels, but you can’t use a 2x zoom mode that’s digitally cropped using the 12-megapixels in the center of the sensor. The Pixel 7’s selfie camera has also been upgraded to a 10.8 sensor, the same one found in the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

The Pixel 7 Pro has seen quite a few changes, especially on the camera front. Like the Pixel 7, this Pro version features the same 50MP main camera with the added 2x digital zoom trick. The telephoto lens has been upgraded to an optical zoom of 5xand the 48 MP sensor can digitally zoom up to 10x.

In addition, the digital zoom capabilities of both cameras can be combined for a telephoto of up to 30x. Also, the ultra wide-angle camera has an even wider field of view of 125 degrees, as well as autofocus and macro mode shooting.

Also similar to the Pixel 7, the Pixel 7 Pro features a 0.1-inch shorter screen to make this 6.7-inch device a bit less thick. The display features a 3120 x 1440 OLED panel with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

The Pixel 7 Pro also features the new Tensor G2 chip, plus slightly more memory at 12GB. As for the battery, the Pixel 7 Pro offers 5000 mAh of capacity, which Google claims will offer a battery life of 24 hours.

Availability and prices

The Google Pixel Watch comes in a Bluetooth/Wi-Fi or 4G LTE model priced at $349 and $399 respectively. It’s available to pre-order today and will arrive on October 13.
