Locked Up With the Devil begins when a star football player, the son of a decorated cop, and a convicted drug dealer named Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton), receives a sentence of 10 years in a minimum security prison. There he is presented with a particular opportunity consisting of two options: enter a maximum security prison specialized in the criminally insane and befriend the suspected serial killer known as Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), or stay where you are and serve your full sentence with no chance of release.

Therefore, Jimmy realizes that his only way out is to get the testimony of the murderer suspected of killing 14 women and find out where the bodies of several girls are buried, before Larry’s appeal is upheld. However, the problem manifests itself when the investigators doubt whether the murderer is telling the truth or if it is just another lie. This dramatic narrative has a particular touch, as it alters the criminal genre by having the perspective of the people who are imprisoned to solve its mysteries.
