John Travolta's suit in 'Saturday Night Fever' has a new owner after paying a high sum

The iconic white three-piece suit worn by the actor John Travolta in the film Saturday night Fever It has reached a price of 260,000 dollars (approximately 235,250 euros) at an auction held in the state of California.

The monochrome set was part of the auction called Hollywood: Classic & Contemporary who organized the specialized house Julien’s Auctions and the channel Turner Classic Movies (TCM), according to CNN, a chain that is also part of the Warner Bros. Discovery group along with the previous one.

The auctioned suit was worn in the most famous scenes of the musical film filmed in 1977 by the character of Tony Manero, a young Italian-American, resident in the New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, who tries to succeed on the dance floors of a local nightclub.

As the American chain recalls, the successful film, with a soundtrack by the British group bee gees, helped popularize disco music around the world, and Travolta received an Oscar nomination for best actor.

According to the organizers of the auction, the polyester suit worn by the also star of grease in the film’s famous dance contest scene is one of two used during the film’s production.

The jacket features exaggerated peak lapels with topstitching and two oversized pockets. At the auction, according to CNN, the suit was described as “one of the most iconic in movie history” and added that it was accompanied by letters of authenticity from Paramount Studios and from Travolta himself.
