Is Amber Heard in 'Aquaman 2'? The new trailer gives us the answer

Did you have doubts about the appearance of Amber Heard in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom? Well, now you can dispel them: the projection of the trailer of the tape in the CinemaCon Las Vegas has cleared up the question of whether the actress will play the role again Meera next to Jason Momoa or if he got off the DC Universe.

In the preview, screened during the panel of Warner Bros., CinemaCon attendees (via Insider) were able to see two shots of Heard playing the undersea hunk’s consort again. The descriptions of these images indicate that her character appears fighting underwater, although without dialogue.

Rumors about the presence of Amber Heard in the film had skyrocketed after the high-profile trial for mistreatment that pitted the actress against her ex. Johnny Depp. Although Heard participated in the filming, this gossip claimed that the bad press attracted by the process had led to his scenes being cut from the montage.

During the trial, Heard herself assured that Warner Bros. had downplayed his role in the sequel to Aquaman. “They gave me a script and then they gave me new versions where they had removed action scenes,” he said. “These also featured my character and another character, without giving away any spoilers. Two characters fighting each other. And they just took a bunch out.”

However, last June, a spokesperson for the actress denied that she had been discarded from the film, describing the rumors as “inaccurate, insensitive and a little crazy.”

What the trailer does imply is that Heard’s role in Aquaman 2 It has been reduced almost to the minimum expression. Thus, Meera will no longer be the co-star of the film with Momoa’s character, as she was in the first Aquaman, but it will give a good part of its importance in the plot to Orm (Patrick Wilson) half brother of the superhero.

Directed again by James Wan, and with Ben Affleck, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman back in the cast, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom opens in the US on December 20th.
