iPhone 14 will be manufactured in India to meet high demand

With an announcement event expected in early September, the new iPhone 14 line will bring important changes from the previous year, and Apple already expects high demand in the sale of its devices. To avoid shortages, the common model — the iPhone 14 itself — must be manufactured not only in China but also in India, and new evidence strengthens this expectation.

A listing in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) agency discovered by the website MySmartPrice confirms the existence of a new Apple smartphone with model number A2882, and it is likely to be the iPhone 14.

The chance is reinforced by the smartphones listed by the registry, containing the iPhone XR (A2105), iPhone 11 (A2221), iPhone 12 (A2403) and iPhone 13 (A2633), which were once manufactured by Foxconn in India.

Earlier in August, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had revealed that the iPhone 14 will be Apple’s first phone made outside of China at launch. As we said above, India has already been the stage for the manufacture of models such as the iPhone 11, 12 and 13, but this happened months after sales began in the country.

Apple’s strategy may be not only to guarantee more units for sale on Indian soil, but also to depend less on China, not only because of the delicate relationship between the Chinese government and the United States, but also because of the constant lockdowns from covid-19 that paralyze factories and assembly of devices.

The new line will arrive with major changes from the previous year. While the iPhone 14 is expected to retain the look, price and cameras of the previous year, the new iPhone 14 Plus (or 14 Max) will be the big debut for the cheaper duo, ditching the 5.4-inch Mini version in favor of a larger at 6.7 inches.

These models will continue to offer the notch to house the front camera and Face ID, in addition to the 12 MP dual rear camera, aluminum sides and A15 Bionic chip inherited from the iPhone 13 Pro, with an extra GPU core.

The new iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be the stars of the event, offering a completely new notch, display with thinner edges, support for Always On Display, in addition to a main camera with a 48 MP sensor for recording 8K videos, larger battery life and new A16 Bionic chip.
