Instagram brings changes so that the user only sees publications that interest him

The Instagram social network is interested in making the experience of users in their time exploring the platform the best possible. Therefore, a way to personalize the experience and to interact with a specific type of content depends on the probability that a person will take an action in the publication.
The valuable interactions within Instagram There are five: spend a few seconds on a publication, comment, like it, share it and click on the profile of the account that published it.
New controls for users
In the wake of people’s need for greater control over what is seen in their ‘feeds’ on Instagramthe social network is starting tests of new functions that will allow users to see what they want as a priority.

One of these new controls is applied in the Explore section of the application. Through a multiple selection, people will be able to indicate which posts they want to tag with an “I am not interested” and Instagram will take care of hiding that specific content in the feed and even similar posts in the future.
Another novelty that would be close to being tested by the social network is the ability to tell Instagram that you don’t want to see suggested posts that contain certain hashtags or keywords in the photo captions. In the event that the user stops seeing a specific type of content, it means that he was included within that type of content.
Other forms of control
Since March 2022, Instagram has implemented a function that consists of the inclusion of certain accounts, at the user’s request, in a category called ‘Favorites’. This allows users to access a “second feed” in which only the publications of the selected accounts within the group of favorites can be viewed.
To choose the accounts to add to this selection of favorites, the user must touch the Instagram logo in the upper left of the screen. mobile app and add up to 50 accounts belonging to family, friends, creators, or businesses. You can also tap the three-dot menu on any post and select “Add to Favorites” directly from the feed.

As an additional alternative, you can indicate the display of the publications of the accounts that are followed chronologicallystarting from the most recent to the oldest.
As in “Favorites”, in this view there are no suggested posts, and you can see the last 30 posts for the user to catch up with the posts. To view only followed accounts in chronological order, tap the Instagram logo on the home page and choose “Following.”
Among other forms of user control regarding the content displayed on their instagram feedthe social network has suggested post options enabled in the Explore section, which reflect the type of content that the user prioritizes in their interaction.

In addition to the “I am not interested” control, which can be used when a publication is not considered relevant, attractive, or interesting for the user.
