Information in Appleā€™s analytics tools can identify users

Security researchers Tommy Mysk and Talal Haj Bakry have discovered that Apple’s analysis tool contains a unique ID called dsid, which is short for Directory Services Identifier.

Since information about name, date of birth and email address is stored in dsid, it is possible to identify specific iCloud users, something that raises concerns about personal integrity.

Apple claims on its website that no data collected for analysis can be traced to individual users, but this does not seem to be true.

Macrumors has tried to get a comment from Apple on the matter, but so far without success.
