Indiana Jones 5: the “young” Harrison Ford will be in the film for 25 minutes

In a recent interview with Total Film, Indiana Jones 5 director James Mangold confirmed that  Harrison Ford will appear for approximately 25 minutes of the film in his rejuvenated version.

Mangold called Ford “ incredibly gifted and agile,” which helped the actor “ pretend to be a 35-year-old ” during filming without too much trouble.

He then spoke of the technology to rejuvenate the star, which he called revolutionary: “ We have hundreds of hours of shots of him with close-ups, medium shots, and wide shots, in all types of light, night and day. I shot scenes with Harrison on Mondays, and on Wednesdays, I could see dailies with a 35-year-old man’s face substituted for a 79-inch one.

Technology aside, his goal has always been to shoot the necessary sequences: “ My goal was to give viewers an opening sequence of about 25 minutes with an integral taste of what they’ve been missing for a long time. Because when the film gets to 1969 they have to deal with a very different present.

Ford confirmed to the newspaper that “ this is the last film and it will be the last time I play the character. And I suppose that will be the last time Indiana Jones appears in a movie .”

He finally confirmed that he will not be in the television series in development, underlining that “ if it enters the works I will not be involved “.

The release date of Indiana Jones 5 (Dial of Destiny) is set for  June 28  in Italy. Find all the information on the film in our profile.
