If you created your Facebook account between 2007 and 2022, claim US$725 million after lawsuit

Facebook users will have until next August to benefit from the class action lawsuit for privacy violations by the social network.

This will apply to users residing in the United States who have active accounts in the period between May 2007 and December 2022, so they can apply for the benefit.

The lawsuit was launched in 2018 after Facebook revealed that the information of 87 million users was incorrectly shared with Cambridge Analytica .

Therefore, it has been decided that the company headed by Mark Zuckerberg will have to give US$725 million to the people who have been affected by the leak of personal data.

“ I’m sorry we haven’t done more at that time. We are now taking steps to ensure this does not happen again,” Zuckerberg said.

Until now, the amount of money that will correspond to each of the users is unknown, since this depends on the number of people who present their claims against the violation of personal data and how long their account was active.

How to apply for Facebook demand benefits?

Facebook users can file a claim by visiting Facebookuserprivacysettlement.com and entering their name, address, and email address, and confirming that they lived in the US and were active on Facebook between the above dates.
