Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro has received the licenses to use ECG

The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro, presented in the spring, can now also measure an EKG on its wearer, as the smart watch and the associated software have obtained the CE certificate of the European Union. In order for watch owners to be able to perform an electrocardiogram, they must first update the watch’s software through the Huawei Health application, which, according to the company’s press release, has already become available in 33 European countries, including Hungary.

The watch and the ECG function are not considered medical devices, they do not replace medical examination, diagnosis or treatment, but at the same time, the watch helps monitor the wearer’s health by real-time analysis of sinus rhythm and atrial fibrillation. The measurement process takes 30 seconds, two electrodes of the watch must be touched.
