Don’t know what Snapchat is, how the days work, or have you lost your Snapstreak with another person and you want to get it back? You can find all the information about recover Snapstreak in this guide.
What is Snapchat?
Snapchat is a real-time mobile application for sending photos and videos. The program is not available on computers – but this is not surprising, as it would contradict the whole idea of the application. In our photos and videos, we can, among other things, apply a lot of filters to our face, or even our own drawings, and also control the pace of the recording and whether the video should contain sound or not. The application founded in 2011 offers a lot of possibilities for users, and as it develops, it only introduces new, more and more interesting functions. One of the most interesting functions added relatively recently is Cameos Stories, which creates funny videos with real faces of ours and our friends from the application.
We can send our works to selected people by setting the time for which this photo is to be displayed for them after playing our snap – after a specified period, the material is self-destructing. Additionally, if the recipient takes a screenshot of our snap, we will immediately get a notification about it. Snapchat also offers text and voice chat, video calls, My Story (the same as Instagram Stories – but it is worth noting that the sprite app was the first) or reports from big events that large companies can post. Then we do not have to add them to friends to see the published content – it is available publicly, under My Story of our friends.
What is Snapchat Streak or Snapstreak?
One of the main features of Snapchat that has grabbed tons of users in the streak, also known as snapass or snapstreak. If we send each other snaps with a friend every day, next to our nicknames we will see the number of days of a joint streak and fire emojis. If the time to extend our Snapstreak is running out, an hourglass emoji will appear next to the number of days, informing us of the little time left for the fire icon to disappear. So you could say that days are actually a points system that is awarded for daily snaps with a given friend. It is worth noting, however, that both people must send a snap within 24 hours – a photo or video from only one person will not make the streak continue.
What if one of the people fails to send the snap within the specified time? Days are actually disappearing. This is not particularly problematic when the days are short – but there are people whose streaks last several months or even years. Is it possible to somehow recover the lost days? Yes. And it is simpler than you might imagine.
How to recover Snapstreak – step by step instructions
While in the Snapchat app, click on your Bitmoji in the upper-left corner and then select the gear icon in the upper-right corner. This will take us to Settings.
Then go to the Support tab and select the I need help option. The application will then take us to the page where we can settle all matters, find out about the functions available in the application or contact support. Then a huge text Contact Us will be displayed at the bottom of the screen and that’s where we have to go.
After clicking on Contact Us, a list of things with which we may have had a problem is displayed. In the case of the problem in question, select the I lost my Snapstreak option. After choosing this option, we get short information from the Snapchat team and a form to fill out.
The following fields must be completed in the form:
- User name;
- the e-mail address associated with the account;
- Phone number;
- model of our phone;
- the nickname of a friend with whom we lost streak;
- when did the problems with the loss of streak begin;
- how many days we had before we lost them;
- did we see an hourglass icon informing us that the streak is ending;
- additional information describing a possible reason for the disappearance of streak.
After filling in all the required fields, send the form and … ready! Our streak will be back in the next few hours.
