Honor X40 debuts on September 15 with renewed look

Honor has announced the launch of a new mid-range smartphone: the Honor X40. With the debut scheduled for the next September 15th in the Chinese market, the device also had the look with a curved panel and uniform edges recently leaked.

  • Honor may launch new phone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 soon
  • Honor Magic V should get a global version only in 2023

In a post on the Chinese social network Weibo, Honor released the poster with the release date of the Honor X40. The promotional art highlights a large circle, a reference to the design of the smartphone’s rear camera module.

Honor X40 leaked look

In parallel with the official announcement of the brand, the informant Abhishek Yadav published alleged images of renders of the Honor X40 on social media. Apparently, the phone should adopt a curved display with thin edges in the four corners and with a hole centered at the top for the front camera.

On the rear panel, the device features a thinner circular module than the predecessor Honor X30 for the triple camera. In a tone opposite to the main color of the device, the island houses the three sensors.

Furthermore, the Honor X40’s power button and volume keys are on the right side of the phone. As per the information, the next mid-range model of the Chinese company may bring the fingerprint sensor under the display.

What to expect from the Honor X40?

So far, the Honor X40 has no spec details released by the brand or in leaks. However, following the example of the look, the phone should have considerable hardware upgrades compared to the predecessor Honor X30.

Released in December 2021, Honor’s mid-range smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 5G processor. In China, the model has options of up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.

With more fluid navigation between menus and apps, one of the highlights of the device is the 6.8-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the phone has a triple rear camera with a 48MP main sensor and uses a 4,800mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 66W.

It is worth mentioning that the Honor X30 was launched in April of this year in Europe with the commercial title of Honor Magic 4 Lite. Therefore, the Honor X40 should not be an entirely exclusive launch to the Chinese market.
