Again Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 reigned at the box office last weekend. If in North American theaters it has exceeded the barrier of 200 million dollars in less than two weeks, specifically, 216.5Outside the United States, its success is even greater, even than expected. With the updated data offered by Collider, the collection would rise in total to 530 million (about 487.3 million in euros) globally.
And so far this year it has been placed as the second highest grossing filmsurpassing the 475.8 of another Marvel production Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In one of the countries that is doing very well this third installment is also in the gigantic and coveted Chinese territory. There he would have amassed 58.4 million.
The highest grossing of the year, and by far, is the animated feature film Super Mario Bros. The Movie and whose $1.21 billion entered so far have surprised locals and strangers.
In this hit parade worldwide, the fourth highest grossing would be john wick 4 with its 419.8 millionand in fifth place would be Creed III with 273.8, both still on the billboard. However, this second position of the volume 3 surely it will soon be relegated by a blockbuster that is expected to be resounding, that of Fast & Furious X which opens this same Friday, May 19, with a Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and family that come stomping on the accelerator and that can devastate, also probably even running over Super Mario Bros.
As for the trilogy directed by James Gunnthe first one was already a surprise success in 2015 raising 772.7 million on the big screens, while Volume 2 was made with 863.7 in 2017.
