Google should allow competitors to post ads on YouTube

Looking to strike a deal with the European Union, Google confirmed it should start allowing other intermediaries can post ads on YouTube.

With this, the measure should make the “monopoly” of Ad Manager cease to exist, and this addresses the main complaint of the EU antitrust commission.

The main focus of the investigation carried out by the European Commission was precisely the fact that Google gave an advantage to those using Ad Manager, since it was only possible to advertise on YouTube using Display & Video 360 or Google Ads.

According to data collected by market analysts, Google reached US$ 6.9 billion in sales in the first quarter of this year alone.

If it reaches an agreement with the European Union, Google will not have to pay a fine that can reach 10% of its entire global revenue. That is, a value that can impact your entire financial balance.

However, it is not just in the EU that the company has been targeted by antitrust authorities. The UK is also eyeing Google’s monopoly on selling ads on YouTube, search engines and other services.
