Four Google Podcasts tricks

1. Automatically delete finished podcasts

If any reader is one of those who download episodes to be able to listen to them without using mobile data or when you don’t have a connection, this functionality is of great interest. Downloaded episodes may accumulate and you don’t think about deleting them, consuming free memory.

Therefore, it is a good practice to enable automatic deletion of episodes, both those that have already been listened to and those that have not been finished listening. The options in each case are different.

On the one hand, to delete episodes that have been completed, you can choose 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days, while for unfinished episodes, 30 or 40 days can be chosen.

With that cleared up, this is the step-by-step on how to enable this option:

– Open Google Podcasts.

– tap on profile picturelocated in the upper right corner.

– Walk into ‘Podcast Settings’.

– Access to ‘Remove finished episodes’ Y ‘Remove unfinished episodes’.

– Select the option you prefer.

2. Download new episodes automatically

The podcasts that the user subscribes to can release new episodes on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and you definitely don’t want to miss them.

Instead of having to wait for this new content to be released, new episodes can be automatically downloaded as they are posted on Google Podcasts.

So when you want to listen to it you will see that it is already downloaded and no internet connection will be needed. Here are the steps to do it:

– Open Google Podcasts.

– tap on profile picturelocated in the upper right corner.

– Walk into ‘Podcast Settings’.

– tap on ‘Auto download’.

– Activate the box ‘Download new episodes automatically’.

– Touch the button with three dots next to ‘Your subscriptions’ and if you want to enable automatic downloading in all the podcasts you follow.

3. Set a timer when you go to sleep

The user’s favorite programs can be a great companion for bedtime, although the problem is that the playback does not end and the cell phone rings all night.

To prevent this, the Google Podcasts app has a timer that can be turned on so that playback stops automatically after the selected time. Is that how it works:

– Open Google Podcasts.

– Play the program you want to listen to.

– Touch on the moon button from the bottom.

– Select the selection timer. If it is given to ‘End of episode’, playback will end when the episode ends. If the suspension time is manually chosen, then you have to tap on ‘Start’.
