Google may use ceramic as a building material in future Pixels

According to rumors, Google is expected to adopt ceramic materials in its future Pixel smartphones. Rumors still show that this should occur in two of the next devices that the company should launch. According to rumors, the novelty will be the result of a partnership between Foxconn and Google.

Supposedly, this should take place on an as-yet-unnamed Pixel smartphone and a foldable smartphone of the line in China. First of all, this is a surprise, given that Google has even moved its factory operations to Vietnam. The most intriguing, however, is that we will have a top-of-the-line Pixel made of ceramic.

Currently, this new device is being kept in great mystery. In this way, the Weibo publication (Chinese social network) is only stating that it will have a Tensor 2 chipset. Likewise, the screen must have 2K resolution. Still, previous rumors may give some insight into what the company has up its sleeves.

Via Weibo, the portal even posted that the ceramic Pixel will have a 50MP main camera with an IMX787 sensor. In addition, another leak reported that this same sensor would be used in a high-end Pixel 7 codenamed “Lynx”. Above all, this model should be more expensive than the rival of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Pixel 7 Pro.

If the rumors are true, this will be the first device in the Pixel line to include ceramic in its construction. That is, quite different from most among the best Android devices that we have seen recently. Now, back to the camera sensor, it is supposed to function as a telephoto.

Another lens should support a 64MP sensor. The post on the Chinese social network did not give any details about Google’s folding model. By the way, this smartphone should not show up until the beginning of next year.
