Google Home allows you to simulate that someone is at home, so it can be configured

When someone goes on vacation, it is normal for that person to be uneasy at having to leave the house empty for so many days, afraid that thieves will take advantage of the family’s absence to enter, but this risk can be solved if you count Google Home and the google assistant.

Thanks to Google Home, you can pretend that someone is at home automating your processes allowing you to turn on and off the devices connected in the home, such as light bulbs, compatible lights, speakers or televisions.

This is how you can simulate the presence of a person with Google Home

To create a presence simulator in Google Home it is necessary to go to routinespress on the icon to add a new process and when the device asks if you want to program a full day routine or not, press Yes. This option will allow you to add all the routines for each hour of the day.

The next step is give the process a name for example “At work”, and select the days on which you want to activate all the processes to be scheduled.

The next thing would be to tell Google Home what actions you want to perform at certain times of the day.

In the section + Add new time you have to choose a time and after clicking on ‘Following’, now you can specify the action you want to perform at that time.

The recommended option is ‘Try adding your own commands’ because of the flexibility it offers, as this is where you can type whatever Google Assistant commands you want Google Assistant to do at the time.

Here you have to go selected what time You want a specific action to take place in the house, such as music or the radio starting to play in the morning, or lights to come on at night. We also have to choose the speaker or speakers with which we want to perform these actions.

It can be written any Google Assistant command to automatically control our device as:

– “Lower/raise the blinds of the [nombre habitación]”

– “Turn on/off the light of the [nombre habitación]”

– “Volume up/down [nombre altavoz]”.

– “To listen [nombre emisora de radio]”

– “Stop the [nombre del altavoz]”.

– “Turn the television on/off”

– “Listen to music”

If you want to listen to music or radio when you are not at home, you have to create an action that stops playback and that command is “Having [nombre del orador]”. So you can say that the music plays at 8:00 a.m. and say that the music stops at 11:30 a.m.

Also, you have to create a speaker volume adjustment action. It is always better to check before leaving home that the routines are working correctly.

You can also improve the presence simulator through Youtube music either Spotify if you have a subscription, since paying users can select songs, allowing you to choose sounds or simulate the noise from a vacuum cleaner or washing machine in case you want to deceive the neighbors into believing that you are vacuuming the floor or washing clothes.

Here you have to create a playlist with noise and stop playback when finished so it doesn’t automatically switch to a song, and also adjust the volume of the speaker so that it sounds as if the washing machine is actually being vacuumed or washed.

For example, we can create a list of applications that say “Vacuum cleaner” with a playlist of “Vacuum Cleaner” on YouTube Music.
