Glee: Series Should Have Ended After Actor’s Death, Says Ryan Murphy

Between 2009 and 2015, the series Glee: In Pursuit of Famefrom the Fox network, made television history by accompanying the school group Glee Club in a musical comedy full of good humor, romance, conflicts and, of course, lots of music.

However, in its 4th season, the series went through a great drama. Actor Cory Monteith, who gave life to the character Finn, has died at the age of 31. What shocked both the fans and the production of the work.

The artist would have consumed alcohol and heroin in excess and could not resist. Remembering that he had already been hospitalized for drug abuse treatments before, which even led him to leave the series at the time.

Now, years after the actor passed away and the series ended, the creator of the production, Ryan Murphy made a strong statement: glee should have ended after Monteith’s death.

during the podcast And That’s What You REALLY Missedby Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz, Murphy commented on everything that happened to the cast of glee over time.

“If I had to do it again, we would have stopped for a long time and probably wouldn’t have come back,” said the producer, who added, “I’d be like, ‘It’s the end.’ Because you don’t really recover from something. so… it wasn’t an ordinary death where someone is sick and you can still see them. It happened very quickly and without warning.”

After the fact, the series still had two more seasons, which yielded another 30 episodes. However, fans still felt Monteith’s absence very much.

glee even paid tributes to the actor during its sequel. One was in the episode “The Quarterback” and the other was changing the name of the McKinley School auditorium to “Finn” in the series finale.
