Available in the Netflix catalog, the film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery was one of the great successes of the streaming platform and made fans wonder if a specific character could have been inspired by a billionaire who is giving the talk.
Its about Miles, played by Edward Norton, compared to billionaire Elon Musk. After much speculation on social media, director Rian Johnson finally spoke about the character’s inspiration.
“This is so weird. It’s very bizarre. I hope there isn’t some secret marketing department at Netflix that is funding this Twitter takeover. There are a lot of general things about this type of tech billionaire that went straight to [o filme]”, he replied, in an interview with Wired.

Thus, Miles would be a parody of the entire current generation of tech billionaires, not just the owner of Tesla..
Even so, the director does not rule out that the film appeared at a very relevant time today, as Elon Musk has been heavily criticized after the purchase of Twitter.
“It has an almost uncanny relevance right now. A friend of mine said, ‘Man, it looks like it was written this afternoon,’ and that’s kind of a horrible accident.”

In the sequel to Knives Out, also by Rian Johnson, Benoit Blanc goes to Greece to solve a mystery that has many new suspects. Produced by Netflix, the franchise seems to have a promising future on the streaming platform, as the title debuted with a 94% approval from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
The cast includes Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista and Ethan Hawke. So far, there is no prediction of a new film in the franchise.
