Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 undergo rigorous endurance tests

The foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 hit the Brazilian market and other countries this week. So, to solve users’ doubts about the resistance of the devices, the manufacturer released a video showing the main tests that the devices are subjected to before leaving the factory.

The promo follows the two folding devices going through automated machines that exploit possible vulnerabilities. There are evaluations of the screen’s touch sensitivity, camera performance and wireless charging function.

However, the highlight of the video is for the flexibility tests of the internal screen and the hinge of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. As well, both devices have the water resistance put to the test by being immersed in a small tank.

In a press release, Samsung highlights that security is fundamental to the brand’s products. So, all the rigorous testing is intended to show that the devices withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.

As with the previous generation, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 have structures made with Armor Aluminum. According to the manufacturer, this type of aluminum alloy can be up to 10% stronger than traditional aluminum.

In relation to the Fold model, the newly launched device adopts a new hinge that uses a mechanism with interconnected teeth. In addition to making the device more compact and lightweight, the brand cites that the system has a lifespan of up to 200,000 folds.

Finally, several users have already ventured to test the IPX8 water resistance certification of Samsung’s new foldables. This means the phones support dives of up to 1.5 meters in fresh water for up to 30 minutes.

Launch in Brazil

Samsung’s fourth generation of folding cell phones officially debuted in Brazil on August 23. Overall, both bring Qualcomm’s premium Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, slight change in look and updated cameras.

Here, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 can be purchased for prices starting at R$ 11,519. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 starts at R$6,299, but those who opt for the custom Bespoke Edition models will find the device with values from R$6,749.
