Galaxy Z Flip 5 should win Google apps optimized for the external screen

The presence of an external screen with larger dimensions is the most awaited novelty in the Galaxy Z Flip 5 line, due to the possibility of performing extra actions with this panel – something already started by rivals like Find N2 Flip and Razr 40 Ultra. As it turns out, though, Samsung must have a trump card against competing models, and it’s in its close partnership with Google.
From what has been said, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 should bring specific optimizations for using Google apps on the external screen, allowing you to use maps, see emails and much more in an intuitive and fluid way. In general, applications should bring their commands adapted to a more square and compact screen compared to current smartphone panels. According to the most up-to-date rumors, Samsung’s new foldable should have a 3.4-inch external panel.
Among the optimized solutions should be Google Maps, allowing the user to access maps and get directions to the desired locations without opening the cell phone. YouTube will be improved for viewing videos on this display, while Messages will allow you to exchange messages more quickly and conveniently.
As Google just entered the foldable device market, its developers would be working harder to optimize applications on flexible screens. However, so far no information has been released about an alleged Pixel Flip, which would also take advantage of apps aimed at additional screens under 4 inches.
Recent rumors do not specifically mention other models with similar external displays, as is the case with the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra or the OPPO Find N2 Flip. However, it is likely that both will also bring optimizations in this regard, but in future updates.
App updates should not be compatible with older models of the Galaxy Z Flip line, as their outer screens are much smaller. Even so, it has already been proven that, in theory, it is possible to open several applications on the small 1.9-inch panel present on the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The software adaptations will join other improvements already made in past generations of Samsung’s foldables, such as the Flex Mode. With it, the user can get a more pleasant experience with the device partially folded, in apps like the camera and Google Meets, for example.
In addition to the arrival of a new external display, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 can still bring a more modern hinge structure, with greater resistance. A new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor is also expected, as is an updated rear camera array.
