A good photograph of a car allows its owners to generate more interaction between their followers and friends on different platforms. That’s why he Japanese professional photographer, Hirohiko Mochizuki, shares some tips that can be used to capture the best angles of each vehicle.
Mochizuki indicated that to achieve these images it is not necessary to have a professional camera, since smartphones have enough features to obtain good results. “(…) they have made it possible for anyone, anywhere, to take great photos (…) with a little creativity, you can make your photos even better.”
The most important tips from the photographer, who has more than 30 years of experience, together with Nissan are the following:
Take care of the position of the camera and the vehicle
A fundamental aspect of photography for vehicles is choosing what position they will have on location. An open area that does not have many elements around it offers fewer distractions to appreciate the curves of the car and its design.

In the case of sports cars, to capture the best angles it will be necessary to place the camera at the height of the lights. In this way, an impressive shot can be achieved that transmits the “personality” of the vehicle.
If you are using a smartphone to take pictures of the vehicle, the ideal is to take advantage of the “pro mode” of the devices that provide better image quality and greater control over the characteristics of the photograph.
Highlight car colors
In addition to the shapes of the vehicle, its color is also an ideal feature to highlight in the photos that are taken. While light colors tend to be more distracting, dark colors such as black can act as mirrors that reflect what is happening around you, so it is recommended to place the camera in a place where this effect does not occur on the surface of the auto.
New cars can be difficult to photograph as their bright colors can be lost if you don’t use the right lighting, which needs to come from bright light to make them stand out.

The silver color is the easiest to take good pictures, since it is not necessary to use a lot of lighting to capture its hue.
Take care of the lighting of the scene
To have good photos, the best time to take them is usually on cloudy days because the lighting is not so intense and the contrasts between the illuminated areas and those with shade are not so great.
The best photos can be taken early in the morning or at sunset, so that the intense light does not create spaces that reflect sunlight and quality is lost in the shapes of the vehicle.
Take advantage of device cameras
Smartphones of various ranges can include up to three types of cameras that could be of great help in taking photos of vehicles: wide angle, standard and zoom. People will have to differentiate which of them are better based on the environment they are in and the features they want to highlight from the car.

If the zoom is too much, image quality can be lost, so if it is used it must be to a certain extent and for a special reason. On the other hand, the wide angle can be used to capture the greatest amount of information about the environment, although it can also generate a distortion in the shapes, although it is not usually very pronounced.
