Failures on Instagram: blocked accounts and reduction of followers

If any TechMarkup reader has had problems with InstagramIt’s not that I’m the only one. This Monday, users from all over the world reported problems with their profiles on the social network of Goal.

Many of them discovered that their accounts were blocked or suspended, apparently by accident, while others reported that their followers dropped significantly in a very short time. Likewise, another part of users have detected that the stories have stopped loading or your account feed is not updating.

The reasons for these situations are still unclear. So far, Instagram has acknowledged that it has problems, although it has not given very specific details. Many people are still waiting for a response to their complaints, which have been in a large number via Twitter.

The social network has already issued a release official where you can read the following: “we are aware that some of you have problems accessing your Instagram account. We are looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience.”

Instagram has problems for 24 hours or more

Those affected by profile blocking share screenshots showing the same message in all cases. “Your account violates our Community Standards. If we are unable to confirm your account, it will be permanently disabled. No one can see this account on Instagram right now and you can’t use it”, can be read on the screen of the cell phone.

This last point is crucial to understand why many users lose tons of followers. When blocked accounts become “invisible” to the rest of the public, many accounts experience a drastic drop in followers, with reports of hundreds or thousands of followers disappearing from moment to moment.

It can be seen in the down detector portal that Reports have begun to be seen about users who are not being able to access the application while others are seeing how their accounts are suddenly suspended for no apparent reason and without posting content that violates the platform’s rules.

Meta and his latest problems

The parent company of Facebook, Meta, has experienced many problems in recent days, where last Tuesday users also reported a massive drop of WhatsAppand on Friday also connection problems in Facebook or in one’s own Instagramalthough Meta has not wanted to justify these failures in any case.

On the other hand, if any of the readers has been affected by the problem of the suspension of the account, it must be clear that the social network usually gives 30 days to dispute the decision. Although of course, in this case it could be different, since it is a random error rather than an Instagram decision. This causes these accounts to be automatically recovered.

TechMarkup will be updating this news as soon as there is news about these errors, as well as the possible solutions in case of being one of those affected.
