Since 2019, Tesla has been teasing Tesla’s Model S Plaid (ultra-fast ) and is finally ready for its public appearance. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Twitter on Thursday that the company will hold a “delivery event” at its Fremont, California plant on June 3, although it has not yet Know when Tesla actually plans to deliver it to customers. It is not yet known when the plaid version of Model X will be available.
Musk said that the Model S plaid pattern is one step higher than Tesla’s ridiculous trim level. It can accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in less than two seconds and can reach 200 mph. speed. Its cruising range is 520 miles, which is much higher than Tesla’s high-end models, and the retail price is $139,990. Musk said that this will be “the fastest production car ever.”

The plaid powertrain is part of Tesla’s broader update for Model S and Model X, with new simplified exterior and interior designs. This is the first major update of these two cars since they were launched in 2012 and 2015 respectively.

The delivery event is on June 03, but no information about actual customer deliveries may indicate another delay in Tesla’s faster electric vehicles. According to information from InsideEVs, customers who ordered Plaid Model S in January were initially told that they hoped to start delivery in April. The company later stated that these dates would be postponed to July.
Tesla has not faced the challenges that the entire automotive industry is facing, including supply chain issues and semiconductor chip shortages globally. In the earnings conference call in April, Elon Musk stated that deliveries of the updated Model S Plaid should begin “soon” but he did not specify an exact date.
Tesla’s website says that Model S Plaid is expected to deliver from August-September this year, Plaid Model X will not be delivered to customers until January to February 2022. The Plaid Plus versions of both cars have an extended range of 520 miles and they are not available. Both models are not expected until “mid-2022”.
