The tycoon Elon Musk affirmed this Tuesday from Doha that there are still “unresolved issues” to consummate the purchase of Twitter, as announced last April for 44,000 million dollarsand stated that this process will not cause problems with China, a large market for his company Tesla.

“There are still unresolved issues,” Musk said in a videoconference from the Qatar Economic Forum and specifically pointed out three issues whose resolution he is waiting for from the company.

There is the matter of “the number of fake accounts and spam that Twitter says is 5%, although it is not our experience”he pointed.

On June 6, Musk threatened not to consummate the purchase of Twitter precisely because of this issuesince he has not received from the company the information he required.

And then “there is the question of whether the portion of the debt round will be met and whether shareholders will vote in favor”, Said the tycoon regarding the other two issues still pending.

Musk, who stated at the beginning of the conversation that he is “limited” in what he can say because of “sensitive topics” and the possibility of being sued for his words, also assured that in the event that the purchase of Twitter is consumed, this will not affect China.

“Twitter does not operate in China,” he said, adding that he thinks the country “does not interfere with freedom of expression in the United States”so he does not think there will be a problem balancing his Tesla interests in China with the future acquisition of the social network.

Likewise, he pointed out that, in the case of completing the operation with Twitter, he would concentrate on “promoting the product” on the network, but he does not necessarily plan to be the general director.

During the conversation at the second edition of this forum in Qatar, Musk was asked if I would vote for Donald Trump for the next presidential elections in the United States, in 2024: “I am undecided at the moment about that choice”.
